Returns & Refunds

There are two ways to return an order:

  • the statutory right of withdrawal of 14 days, available to consumers in the EU, and
  • our voluntary 30-day return policy, which we offer worldwide on top of it.

Both apply side by side. Our voluntary offer does not limit your statutory rights in any way.

Statutory right of withdrawal (EU consumers)

Withdrawal notice

You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.

The withdrawal period expires 14 days from the day on which you, or a third party other than the carrier indicated by you, acquire physical possession of the goods. If you ordered several goods in one order that are delivered separately, the period expires 14 days from the day on which you, or a third party other than the carrier indicated by you, acquire physical possession of the last of the goods.

— of your decision to withdraw from this contract by an unequivocal statement (for example a letter sent by post or an email). You may use the model withdrawal form below, but it is not obligatory.

To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.

Effects of withdrawal

If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (with the exception of the supplementary costs resulting from your choice of a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us), without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract.

We will carry out such reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.

We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.

You shall send back the goods or hand them over to us without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired.

You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods.

You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.

Exceptions

The statutory exceptions to the right of withdrawal under § 18 of the Austrian Distance and Off-Premises Contracts Act (FAGG) remain unaffected. Our range consists exclusively of standard items; we currently do not offer personalised or made-to-order pieces for which the right of withdrawal would not apply.

Our voluntary 30-day return policy

In addition to the statutory right of withdrawal, you may return items to us within 30 days of receipt — from any country and without giving a reason.

The item must be in the same condition in which you received it: unworn, unused, with all tags attached and in its original packaging. Please include your receipt or another proof of purchase.

This return policy is a voluntary, contractual commitment on our part. Your statutory rights — in particular the right of withdrawal described above and your statutory warranty rights — remain unaffected and continue to apply in full.

How to return

Register your return or exchange in the portal for your country:

You will need your order number and the email address used for the order. The portal shows the cost of the return label for your country before you confirm. Once confirmed, you receive the label and the return address.

Then pack the items securely, attach the label and drop the parcel off with the carrier indicated.

Please register your return in the portal rather than sending items back unannounced — otherwise we cannot reliably match the parcel to your order. If the portal does not find your order, write to office@createdbyill.com and we will help.

Cost of returning

You bear the cost of returning the goods. So that you do not have to arrange shipping and customs paperwork yourself, we provide a prepaid return label through the returns portal for your country. The exact cost of that label is shown in the portal before you confirm your return, and is paid there.

For returns from the United States, a flat fee of USD 6 is deducted from your refund instead.

We only ever pass on the shipping cost actually incurred, never more. You are of course free to arrange the return yourself with a carrier of your choice.

If you withdraw within the statutory 14-day period, we will also refund the original outbound shipping cost (standard delivery). For a return under our voluntary 30-day policy, we refund the value of the goods.

Refunds

Once your return has reached us and been inspected, we will notify you by email. The refund is issued to your original payment method. Depending on your bank or card issuer, it can take a few business days for the amount to appear on your statement.

If your refund has not arrived 15 business days after our confirmation, please contact us at office@createdbyill.com.

Damaged or incorrect items

Please check your order on arrival. If an item is damaged or defective, or if you received the wrong item, get in touch — ideally with photos. We will sort it out and of course cover all shipping costs in these cases.

Independently of this, a statutory warranty of two years from delivery applies. It is not subject to any of the deadlines above.

Exchanges

The fastest way is to return the item you have and place a new order for the one you want. Depending on the destination country we can also ship the new item once your return has arrived — just let us know.
